Nisroch

An Assyrian deity mentioned twice in the OT; while worshipping in the temple of Nisroch Sennacherib was murdered by his two son. The two references refer to the same event.

CONCORDANCE (NIV)

2 Ki 19:37 — One day, while he was worshipping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.

Isa 37:38 — One day, while he was worshipping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son succeeded him as king.
