5:32-33 - So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
With the recollection of the events of Horeb and the explanation of how Moses came into his role as the authoritative mediator and herald of the torah Moses turns now to urge GenB to take to heart all that has been commanded them. Israel must be watchful not to deviate from them—"do not turn . . ." Moses had recalled how the people at Horeb had feared for their life (v25). Now Moses reminds them that the key to life—indeed to prosperity and longevity in the land—is their obedience to all that have been commanded them (v33). To this life in the land, Moses would now turn his attention in the next few chapters.
