The Language of the Old Testament

The book of Genesis was originally written in Hebrew but with parts of it in Aramaic; these Aramaic parts are found mainly in Ezra (4:8-6:18 & 7:12-26), Daniel (2:4-7:28), and Jeremiah (10:11).

This is what Genesis 1 looks like in a modern printed Hebrew Bible (Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia). Note that Hebrew is read from right to left.
