Reading Jeremiah in Context

The book of Jeremiah can be confusing to read for two reasons. 1) Not all of his oracles are dated to specific times or occasions so that the specific historical contexts of many of his oracles cannot be ascertained. 2) The book does not arrange the oracles in a way that we might call 'organized'.

We have charted the chapters of Jeremiah in the chronological order that the oracles were given where such information are available. We encourage you to read the chapters against the historical background as they are displayed here. You can do this by clicking on the chapter references cited along the timeline.
