Alberith Greek Wordbook

theos, God, god, gods.
[GEL-33 - Mounce]

The word theos is a common noun, capable of being translated as 'god' or 'God,' and was not, originally, capitalized. The custom of capitalizing it arose with modern printing. Where it is uncertain whether 'god' or 'God' is meant the decision whether to do so or not depends on the editor of the particular edition. Note also that the definite article is frequently used with the word theos though it is omitted when translated into English.

See Case for explanation.
