Aorist

In Greek grammar, aorist is the tense that expresses simple past time, "with no implications of continuance, repetition, or the like." The sense is that the act is completed, accomplished, a 'done-thing' that needs no more attention to it except, perhaps, to reflect on its significance in satisfaction (or sorrow as the case may be).
