Coriander

A widely used herb, with a mildly bitter taste. Twice the manna that Israel fed on in the wilderness is described as "white like coriander (gad) seed" (Exo 16:31; Num 11:7). The "bitter herbs" that Israel was to eat with the meat of the Passover lamb was probably coriander, though the plant is not specified.
