The term for any collection of extracts from different sources or texts in one volume; today most of us will probably refer to such a thing as a compendium.
Florilegium is also the name given to a collection of 27 fragments of ancient documents found in 1952 in Cave 4 at Qumran. Its fragments contain extracts of various biblical books, including Deut, 2 Sam, and Psms; hence its name, which is Latin for an anthology of extracts. It is also referred to as 4QFlor. It has no relevance for the preacher, though scholars find them useful for understanding Jewish thoughts in the 1st Cent AD.
