Hauptbriefe

A term of German origin (when German influence in biblical studies was at it acme), still found in some literature, meaning "chief letters," i.e., the letters, especially of Paul, that are more important in establishing his theology, and generally undisputed by scholars with regards to authorship. These include his letter to the Galatians, the two letters to the Corinthians, and Romans.
