A literary device in which a short section of text begins and ends with the same words, or idea. The section of text is thus "included" or "book-ended" by the inclusio. By thus isolating the section from the surrounding texts, inclusio highlights the section for attention—a very important consideration when we want to understand the Scriptures in its proper context.
