There exists two different versions of the ISBE. The first, reproduced here in ALBERITH, was edited by James Orr (1844-1913). Written from a fundamentalist perspective, it was first published in 1915. It is now in the public domain. ALBERITH is beginning to incorporate ISBE articles into its resources (the sections on "Literature" are, however, ommitted since they are no longer relevant accept to historians).
The second version of the ISBE is a four-volumned work edited by Geoffrey W. Bromiley, with articles by some 200 scholars. This work is evangelical in perspective. The first volume of this four-volumed work was published by Eerdmans in 1979, and remains in print.
