Kassites

A people native to the Zagros Mountains (western Iran) who around the year 1475 BC, captured Babylon and established a unified empire they called Kar-Duniash (and referred to as Kossaios by the Greeks); the longest dynasty in Babylonian history. They ruled, with Babylon as their capital until about 1155 when they were invaded by the Elamites. Though no Kassite king achieved personal fame, the stability they brought to the region and their ability to assimilated traditional Mesopotamian culture helped bring Babylonian culture to new levels of international prestige.

The Kassites are not mentioned by word in the OT. Some scholars, however, believe that "the land of Cush" in Gen 2:13 refers not to Ethiopia (as Cush is usually understood in the OT) but to the land of the Kassites. This, if correct, would narrow down considerably the expanse of grounds where Eden might be thought to be located.
