Migdol

A place-name mentioned about half a dozen times in the Old Testament (Exo 14:2; Num 33:7; Jer 44:1; 46:14; Eze 29:10; 30:6). The name simply means "fortress," making it nearly impossible to be certain which of several such Migdols is meant in any one passage. All the places named Migdol in the Old Testament were located along or near the Way to the Land of the Philistines on the northern border of Egypt.
