Nash Papyrus

The name given to a single-leaf papyrus containing the entire Ten Commandments (part from Exodus and part from Deuteronomy) and the Shema. Dates for its composition vary with different authorities, from 2nd BC to 2nd AD. Until the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nash Papyrus was the oldest Hebrew biblical papyrus. The document is named after W. L. Nash who bought it from an Egyptian dealer in the first years of the 20th Cent.
