A study of the questions and the solutions scholars have made of the New Testament is a crucial part of the task of understanding the New Testament, if for nothing else than to help us not to re-invent the wheel every time we have our own questions about the New Testament. The subject is vast, but F. F. Bruce has done us a great favour with his excellent, though slightly dated, overview of the subject.
