Preposition

A word placed before (hence its name, pre - position) a noun or substantive to indicate the relation of the substantive to other words in the sentence. E.g., "I received the parcel from Paul", "Jesus gave the morsel to Judas". Common prepositions include 'to', 'from', 'in', 'out of'.
