Prison Epistles

The name customarily given to Paul's epistles to the Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, and Philemon, because in all of them Paul writes as a prisoner.

Apart from their message and theology, one of the key questions that interests scholars and commentators is the place of his imprisonment. Three possibilities are often debated: Jerusalem, Caesarea, and Rome (some have suggested Ephesus, though there is no narrative record of Paul being kept in prison in Ephesus).

A full article on the subject is planned.
