Protreptic

An adjective and shorthand used by some biblical scholars to designate literature or speech that are "intended to win converts and attract people to a particular way of life." E.g., Romans 1:16-4:25; 5:1-8:39; and 12:1-15:13, are identified by a number of commentators as 'protreptic' addresses.
