Reformed Theology

The name given to the theology associated with the Swiss Reformation, and especially with John Calvin over against the Catholics and the Lutherans. Reformed theology claims to be shaped most of all by the Bible (and not infrequently think that it is the only one to do so) as well as the historic Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort, and the more recent Belhar Confession.
