Rector of Trinity Church, Cambridge, in the early 19th Cent,Charles Simeon remains one of the most renowned evangelical Anglican ministers ever. A highly capable expositor, Charles Simeon transformed the Cambridge spiritual landscape during his tenune there. His influence can be traced in particular to the life and mission of the great missionary to the East, Henry Martyn and William Wilberforce. He helped found the Church Missionary Society and what was to become the was to become the University and College Christian Fellowship (UCCF, UK) and the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (US, Canada and other English-speaking dominions). Additionally, he was also active in the British and Foreign Bible Society.
