Sin
Though popularly conceived of as 'wicked acts,' sin, from a biblical perspective, is any act that refuses or fails to take God seriously in what He has said, whether this is as a "falling short" or a "transgression" (i.e., going beyond) of His will and commands. Ultimately sin is a denial of God's sovereignty, to acknowledge mentally and to act accordingly the fact that God is God.
