The third division of the Hebrew Bible, the Writings is called "the Psalms" by Jesus in Lk 24:44 ("This is what I told you while I was still with you: Every-thing must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms"). In the English translations, the Writings are also sometimes called the Hymnic (or Poetic) and Wisdom Literature.
The Writings in the Hebrew Bible is a collection of 11 books divided into 'Emeth ('The Truth,' consisting of the Psalms, Proverbs, and Job), the Megilloth ('The Scroll,' consisting of the Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and Esther), Daniel, Ezra-Nehemiah and 1-2 Chronicles.
