Huldrych Zwingli

b. 1 Jan 1484; d. 11 Oct 1531

Swiss Protestant reformer, often better remembered for his death in a civil war he helped to provoke than for his theology. A contemporary of Martin Luther (1483-1546) and John Calvin (1509-64), he is often called the "Third Man of the Reformation."
