Paul's journey to Rome from Caesarea, where he had been kept prisoner for two years, was necessitated by his appeal to Caesar against the charges of the Jews in Jerusalem that he had descrated the Jerusalem Temble by bringing a Gentile into its holy precinct. It is reported in the last two chapters of Acts and was the last major journey that Paul made that we know of with certainty.
